Over 11 months, fellows embark on a unique experience that includes collaboration and creativity with your team in an office environment and high-energy youth programming on Saturdays. We provide training for the first few weeks, however much of the learning happens over the service year. You’ll be exposed to many opportunities to practice leadership and curriculum design while receiving coaching from staff.

Recruit a diverse cohort of middle, high school, and college aged youth from all over Los Angeles or Stockton, CA through engaging presentations and community outreach. With your team, gain the experience and skills to effectively facilitate youth learning around complex community issues.
Role Details

Recruit a diverse community of middle and high school students through engaging presentations, workshops, and targeted outreach in your site’s location.
Nurture and cultivate relationships with schools, community-based partners, and families to help youth access local community-based organizations and leaders.
Design curriculum and learning experiences (field trips) for participants to build community and learn about complex community issues.
Coach a small learning community of Changeist participants in civic reflection, enhancing their learning and experience.
Utilize data to improve the quality of program week to week.
Lead special projects that will build on the current work of the organization.

Be between 17-26 years old
Be a U.S. Citizen or legal permanent resident (Authorization to work in the U.S. is not sufficient . Those with DACA status unfortunately are not eligible at this time)
Have a GED, high school diploma, some college or college and/or advanced degree
Have served no more than three terms in an AmeriCorps state or national program
Agree to pass a criminal background check
